HEATHERFIELD TOWNHOMES

HOMESTEAD DESIGN is proud to offer its latest town home neighborhood, HEATHERFIELD, located in the heart of South Burlington, and designed to fulfill the needs of the active adult. Heatherfield is the "total package", combining a prime in-town location, design and construction excellence, and carefully preserved stands of trees and wetlands.

Homestead Design is offering three different townhome designs, each combined with different floor plan choices as well as a large variety of quality finish and feature options. We have focused thirty years of experience in creating one of Vermont's finest new neighborhoods at Heatherfield.

Neighborhood description:

HEATHERFIELD consists of 45 acres, located close to the core of South Burlington, close to a whole spectrum of services, institutions, and shopping. 83 townhomes will be built over a period planned to extend through late 2008. A new connecting road, Songbird Lane, will connect Dorset and Spear streets, which in turn will feed the various clusters of buildings on the land. The permitting for Heatherfield took over four years to achieve with a great deal of local and state oversight, but the results were worth it. Heatherfield's site is an important natural area, largely wooded, and containing seven distinct wetland areas. In addition to the connector road, a recreation path will run its entire length, east to west, and ultimately link the recreation paths running along Spear and Dorset. All roads, water and sewer lines will be city owned. Natural gas and all other electrical, phone, and cable TV lines will all be underground, and will serve all homes in the neighborhood.

The Townhome Designs:

The design, construction details, options, and specification selections at Heatherfield are the culmination gained in crafting quality multi-family communities. Before starting construction on Heatherfield, we fine tuned our designs with a panel comprised of past and present Homestead townhome owners and real estate experts, and went back to the drawing board to incorporate their ideas. Paying attention to that kind of feedback from our customers has made us a better building company and has paid off for Homestead owners with every successive project, in enjoyment and value.

There are two different series offered at Heatherfield, Series I and Series II. Both series are virtually identical in plan configuration, but Series II plans and specifications are more luxurious.  The three different town home plans, the Cedar, the Elm, and the Fir, are designed to be able to accommodate many different lifestyle choices. These include master bedroom suites on the first floor, all bedrooms on the second level, home offices, dens, and multiple plan options for kitchens, master baths, and bedroom arrangements. Models are flexible in their ability to locate within a building. You can choose your home in your location. While the plans offer a variety of features, there are elements which are common to all of town homes. Any town home location may receive an optional screen porch or wood paneled sunroom, complete with a charming glass doored gas stove, as well as "gourmet" kitchen options.

Standard Series II features include:
* Covered bluestone entry porches
* Two car garages with insulated automatic doors
* 9' first floor ceilings
* Gas fireplaces
* Ceramic tile
in the entry, kitchen and half bath
* Large windows with transoms on main floor rooms
* High efficiency gas warm air heating
* Central air conditioning
* High quality wood kitchen cabinets in a variety of styles with granite or Corian kitchen countertops

* Stainless steel kitchen appliances including an armoire-style refrigerator with bottom freezer
* Large walk-in closets in Master Bedroom suites
* Luxury tiled Master Baths with large, custom tiled showers, plus jetted tubs in some plans
* Double Master Bath sinks
* Complete landscaping (front and rear) and patio packages
ability is key with the Fir.

 

The Cedar, is presented as our furnished model and incorporates many appealing relationships in its plan. The large kitchen incorporating many unique features, including a walk-in pantry, and long, curving raised bar. The corner study, with its French door and windows to the inside and outside, will be a favorite retreat. The living and dining areas flow into each other and relate well to the kitchen, located so the chef (s) won't feel out of the action. In addition, the dining room bay will make mealtime an experience that will bring some of Heatherfield's attractive outdoor environment inside.

Upstairs plan options provide for either dual master suites, or three bedroom layouts. In addition there is a second floor laundry area. Like all of the designs, the Cedar incorporates a large second floor storage room.


The Elm, is a design which evolved after feedback from our final Heatherfield focus group. We positioned the large, island kitchen in this plan in the "heart of the action" at one end of the great room and adjacent to the rear yard and patio. We also enlarged the mudroom and storage space in the garage, and provided for a circular traffic pattern on main level.

Upstairs plan options provide for either dual master suites, or three bedroom layouts. In addition there is a second floor laundry area.  As in the other designs, the second floor incorporates a large storage room in the Elm.

The Fir incorporates as its main design theme a Master Bedroom on the first floor. The suite features a large walk-in closet and tiled shower. For convenience a location for a full-sized stackable washer dryer closet is located within the master bath.

The second floor is comprised of two large "Master" Bedrooms, each with its own Master Bathroom. The Fir allows you the luxury and flexibility of using the first floor Master Bedroom as a family room, library or study until you have the need for a first floor Master Bedroom. Flexibility and adaptability are key in the Fir. adaptability is key with the Fir.
